MNHS

 Malabon National High School is dedicated to  academic excellence through a challenging and various curriculum  that focuses on core academic subjects which are:

a.) Enhanced Basic Education  (K to 12); b.)  Science, Technology and Engineering Program (STEP);

c.)  Special Program in the Arts (SPA);

d.)  Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL).        

Students also participate in arts, athletics, environmental awareness, life-career  programs, spiritual formation and  service to others.

MNHS is part of the  secondary schools of the Division of Malabon City which aims to produce a college preparation education and life career to undeserved students.The MNHS have extensive extracurricular programs available (but not limited to) newspaper, ecology club, techno-skills Olympics, media and digital arts, theater, dance, music, singing, sports, creative writing, foreign language, intramural and academic support in each subject area.The combination of solid academics, extracurricular experiences, exposure to wide variety of life-career opportunities and value-based academics not only open doors for MNHS students to be accepted into college, it also helps most graduating students earn college scholarships.

Engineering  and Mathematics (Formerly ESEP)

The core subjects offered in the Secondary Education curriculum (SEC) and under the K to 12 BEC were enhanced by additional subjects identified in the Revised Curriculum of the Engineering and Science Education Program (ESEP) of the S & T Oriented High Schools.

​The subject offerings, time allotment and unit credits    stipulated in DEpED Order No.41, S. 2004 and DEpED  Order no. 31, S.2012 were strictly implemented. In many schools offering the Program, add –on subjects in Science and Mathematics were offered on top of the requirements of the core curriculum and the special curricular program in science and technology.

Special Program In 

Foreign Language

(Chinese Mandarin)

The program was implemented on July 2012-2013. Screening was done  June of the same school year to  look for potentially competitive students who deserve to study Chinese Mandarin.

After months of studying the language, students showcased what they have learned through their first Culminating Activity which was held on September 21, 2012.  Chinese teachers from Confucius Institute at Angeles University Foundation (CI-AUF) graced the event and also showcased their dancing and singing prowess.

November 10,2012 the students took the YOUTH CHINESE TEST (YCT) level 1 at MNHS Auditorium.  Due to eagerness and hard work, all the students passed the examination and MNHS was one of the schools who got  100 % passing score..

The Arts

(SPA)

The Special Program for the Arts is a nationwide program for students with potentials or talents in the Arts. One pilot school in every region was selected to pilot and implement this program and is now on its tenth year of implementation.

The selected school offers a comprehensive secondary education program centered in the Arts, covering a range of art forms and disciplines. Arts education is an integral component of a balanced educational program in all year levels which also provides the background for post-secondary/ tertiary level work.

Creative Writing which includes Fiction, Poetry, Playwriting and Journalism both in English and Filipino.

Dance which includes Classical and Modern Ballet, Folk Dance, Improvisation, Composition and Staging.

Music which includes theory, Composition, Solo instrument, Ensemble, Chorus, and Solo voices both Instrumental and Vocal.

Theater Arts, Acting, Stage Management, Technical Theater, Theory and History of Theater, Dance Theater and Directing.

Visual Arts which includes Visual Perception, Sculpture, Painting, Drawing and Sketching.

Media Arts which includes Photography, Photo Editing through computer, Music Remixing, Movie Making & Editing, Materials & Techniques and Computer Art.

This is a program to streamline the system of educating thousands of students in an unstructured academic environment according to their particular artistic inclination. The Special Program for the Arts catered to those who have artistic talents and therefore uses a curriculum that considers attitude, commitment, and interests as academic requirements for young artists.
